This is the story of a 14 year old girl’s dream to become an airline pilot. As she writers in her journal, “I felt like whipping the wind.” When Sari began taking lessons in flying she realizes that there were no women flying for the major airlines. The year was 1974. When the breakthrough comes, Sari is ready. By this time, she has her private, commercial and instrument flying licenses and lots of time flying World War II aircraft. At the age of 21, she gets her first job flying for Air New England in Boston. Then comes Aspen Airlines in California and finally, her big break. In 1981, she is hired by Pacific Southwest Airlines, the first women among 550 men!
Sari’s journal documents her amazing career from a young girl’s dream to its fulfillment and her final battle with Lupus. In spite of all that life sometimes brings, Sari’s faith and belief brings her through.
